Members present: John Fife, Chris Ackerley, George Millen, Beth Carter, Kevin O’Driscoll, Isabel Santos-O’Driscoll, Nell Pederson, Mayrose Wegman, Robert Wacker, Hank Rowe, Bill Thierry, Kip Martinez, JJ Green, Joann Benoit, Marsha Hoffman, Katrina Lance (sp?), Mike Robinette, Wendy Ousley, Pam Carter, Merrell Richardson, Dolly Pivonka, Marygrace Salamon, Ellen Harris, Carol Tracy, Kathryn Pivonka, and Brandi Green.

  • Previous Minutes – George moved to approve minutes. Chris seconded. Minutes approved, as amended.
  • Membership – 520 members. Intensive Organizing Opportunity conducted last week. 7 new members recruited. Nell thanks the AR structure, building reps, Kathryn, Dolly, Chris, Carol, Isabel, Mayrose, Hank, Sarah Markey, and AEA staff & leaders for participating.
  • Financial Report – George reports on current financial situation/budget.
  • Political Action – If you are interested in volunteering to help pro-education candidates, call Chris Ackerley at 406-8946 or visit soazgreat.blogspot.com to see calendar of events. Visit www.Vote4SchoolsAZ.com to find AEA recommended candidates. Amphitheater School Board candidates are coming to speak to Amphi EA members at 4:30 on October 5, 2010. Mayrose to create an outline for ARs to use to speak to their PTOs.
  • Scholarship Committee - John distributes a sample "Enjoy the City" coupon book to ARs to begin Fundraising – Cost $20.00.
  • Constitution Amendments – Beth moves that the Constitution Committee take suggestions under consideration, and re-present a finalized version to the AR structure in an upcoming AR meeting. Carol Tracy seconds. Motion approved.
  • For the good of the order – If potential members have never been members encourage them to date forms 10/01/10 so their dues will be pro rated. Returning members dues will not be pro rated.
  • Adjournment – John Fife moves to adjourn, Kathryn seconds. Motion approved.
